KIDS' MUSIC EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS

As part of Music Matters at Selfridges this summer, there’ll be a whole host of events for budding young performers at our London, Birmingham and Manchester Trafford stores, from DJ lessons to silent carnivals. No need to book - simply turn up on the dates and times detailed below. 

 

LONDON

London Sound Academy
Hit the decks and become a DJ for a day as London School of Sound teaches you how to mix tracks together and get creative with some acoustic special effects with its family-friendly short tutorials.
Dates: Saturday 22 July & Saturday 19 August

Despicable Me 3 Boombox
Trip the light fantastic and party like it’s 1999 with some familiar friends as the Minions get the celebrations started inside our boombox karaoke booth.

Minions Appearance
Despicable by name, but not by nature (well…) come and say “Bello” to the Minions as they make a special in-store appearance to celebrate the release of Despicable Me 3.

School of Noise Workshops
Makeshift music takes centre stage at Selfridges as School of Noise set up creative workshops for children to explore sound in accessible, fun and educational ways. Sample some noise, orchestrate fruit and vegetables and even build a cardboard record player.
Dates: Saturday 5 August & Saturday 12 August

Silent Carnival
The fiesta hits Selfridges as Sharky and George invite you to their fun silent disco with buckets of glitter face paint, rainbow feathers and lots of carnival spirit.

MANCHESTER TRAFFORD 

Despicable Me 3 Dance Fight at Selfridges Trafford
The battle of the “Bello” takes centre stage as the Minions face off in a frenetic dance battle to the sounds of party favourite ‘Just Dance’ on Nintendo Switch. Prove you’re the King or Queen of the dance floor by shaking your tail feather and throwing some shapes.

Rave-A-Roo at Selfridges Trafford
This summer, Rave-A-Roo is stepping out of its legendary Ministry of Sound London home to host the ultimate daytime kids' event at Selfridges Trafford, Manchester. Expect a live DJ, madcap hosts, disco ball games and a confetti mayhem finale. There’s also a chance to get funky and creative with neon clay modelling, sunglasses decorating and glitter face-painting.
