Boyy

Boyy, oh Boyy: it’s the name on the lips of serious style aficionados the world over, having reached quiet It-bag status for its signature giant-buckled, top-handle totes. “We’ve seen Boyy, founded in Thailand in 2006, grow into a real trophy brand across the world’s fashion capitals over the past few seasons,” says our Accessories Buying Manager Josie Gardner. “The sharp lines and oversized buckle detail make the bags feel timeless but also refreshingly new. I love the beautiful iridescent blue style, exclusive to Selfridges this season.”

The Row has long been a favourite of fashion insiders who love the brand’s exquisite craftsmanship, considered shapes and luxurious fabrications. This season, I especially love the gorgeous evening clutches in crushed velvet.

The Row

“This is one of the brands I’m most excited to be launching in our new Accessories Hall edit,” says our Accessories Buying Director Eleanor Robinson of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s label The Row, which oozes understated sophistication. “The Row has long been a favourite of fashion insiders who love the brand’s exquisite craftsmanship, considered shapes and luxurious fabrications. This season, I especially love the gorgeous evening clutches in crushed velvet.”

Balmain – cross-body bag and bucket bag (coming soon)

///

Balmain

Creative Director Olivier Rousteing has raided the Balmain archives (which go all the way back to 1945) for the latest ‘Domaine’ accessories collection, which is inspired by the French maison’s most iconic styles. Expect plenty of quilted black leather, oversized tassels and gold hardware embellishment, including the embossed gold coin that is so engrained in the Balmain DNA.

Bulgari

The exquisite chain strap and gleaming snake-head closure are clues that a fine jeweller is behind the design of the iconic Bulgari Forever Serpenti collection. Choose from a spectrum of jewel-like colours, including this glossy purple bag created exclusively for Selfridges this season. As an adorable extra, the miniature version will keep your full-sized tote company wherever you go – because accessorising your accessories is totally a thing now.

Valextra

Despite the discreet, logo-free designs, Valextra bags are instantly recognisable among those in the fashion know thanks to their unique, streamlined shapes and impeccable Italian craftsmanship. “As an interesting alternative to black, midnight blue is big news in accessories this season. Bi-colour bags are also a key trend, so this exclusive style from Valextra ticks both boxes,” says our Designer Accessories Buyer Sarah Cartwright. Add a fun twist with interchangeable shearling handles, or a clear PVC raincoat to protect your precious purchase from the elements.

Byredo

Luxury lifestyle brand Byredo may be better known for its understated (and oh-so-Instagrammable) fragrances and candles, but Stockholm-based founder Ben Gorham has also turned his hand to accessories – which we’re bringing to the UK for the first time. The simple, elegant bags, wallets and cardholders are imbued with the same inimitable Scandi cool as the fragrances. You’ll find a whole world of Byredo in our Accessories Hall, including our exclusive scent Rodeo – an exquisite, earthy blend of leather accord, midnight violet and black amber.

Make it personal

What do your accessories say about you? We think they should be as unique as you are. To celebrate the launch of the new Accessories Hall, we’ve invited our favourite designers and brands (Loewe, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra, Marni and Stella McCartney and more) to each create an exclusive bandana – perfect for adorning hair, wrists, necks, and, of course, bags. What’s more, our permanent Personalisation Atelier will accessorise any bag with everything from bespoke Boyarde hand-painting and classic hot stamping to a selection of stickers, charms and straps to make your accessory one-of-a-kind.

Masters – a collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Jeff Koons

///

Art attack

The new Accessories Hall will also be home to Louis Vuitton’s first permanent concept shop – an ever-changing space that will be home to the French fashion house’s most exciting new collaborations. The first of which is ‘Masters’, a collection of bags and accessories created with artist Jeff Koons. Imagery from Koons’ ‘The Gazing Ball’ paintings, a series of hand-painted reproductions of works by the Old Masters (including Monet, Manet, Gauguin, Turner and Boucher), has been transposed onto iconic Louis Vuitton bags. Don’t miss a visit to the in-store space, brought to life by Koons’ iconic rabbit-shaped metal sculptures.

Lend us your ears

“We’ve seen an array of interesting earrings across the international runways during recent seasons – from bold and bejewelled to mismatched and sculptural – and women have really embraced this versatile accessory as a means of self-expression,” says our Accessories Buying Manager Josie Gardner. Hence why, as part of our Accessories Hall expansion, we’ve introduced a dedicated earrings edit, with six exciting new jewellery brands including Ellery and Paula Mendoza. We say, be daring: bold lobes instantly add fashion clout to the simplest outfits.
